Scheduling of Classes |
All Kindergarten through Third Grade classes are scheduled to visit the library for thirty minutes each week. Lessons and storytelling are conducted, and the students are allowed time to check out a book. Second and third graders are taught important research, reference, and study skills to help them become independent users of the library and well as independent learners.

Fines |
Overdue fines are charged to students in grades 1 through 3. The amount charged is five cents per day, allowing a five day grace period. Fines for overdues are not assessed over holidays or days of absence. Fines for damages are assessed as follows:

Lost Books |
If a book is lost, the replacement cost of the book is charged. If the book is found, the payment is returned.

Library Hours |
The library is open each school day from 8:00 a.m through 3:15 p.m. Students are allowed to use the library before school, during recess and lunch periods. Books may be exchanged on any school day, not solely on the student’s scheduled library class day.

Check-out Policy |
Regular Circulation - Students are allowed to check out one book at a time, with some exceptions made for special needs. The regular loan period is one week. Circulation to Parents - Parents may check out books for students. These checkouts are made on the student’s patron card. No additional card is made for the parent.
