SAILING
THE SEAS IN OUR TWENTY-FIRST YEAR |
Dear Whispering
Forest Families and Friends:
Welcome to our school! We look forward to
seeing all of you at the events that we have scheduled throughout the
school year. Each month is very busy with class projects, special grade
level events, and performances by our chorus as well as other arts related
events. Check the calendar on our website, the newsletters that PTA
and your child’s teacher send home, and the big calendar in the
main hallway. We are always eager to have parents volunteer for school
activities. Contact the PTA members if you are interested in giving
your time to us. Ms. Underwood and our other PTA volunteers would love
to have you.
In viewing the website, we hope you noticed
the Reading Renaissance button for 2nd and 3rd grade parents to keep
up with their children’s progress with Accelerated Reader (AR).
Your child’s agenda is another excellent place for 2nd and 3rd
grade parents to keep up with AR, homework assignments, and other things
going on in the classrooms.
PK parents are always invited to volunteer
in the classrooms. It is an integral part of the PK program. It also
shows your child the interest that you have in these very early school
experiences and their learning.
All parents are welcome to join their children
at breakfast and lunch. Be sure to check the time for the lunch period
you wish to attend, and be sure to sign in at the office to secure a
visitor’s pass. If you have any questions or concerns, please
feel free to contact the office to make arrangements to speak or conference
with your child’s teacher. The office staff will forward the information
to the teacher for him/her to contact you. Students’ papers go
home every Monday in their Monday Folders for you to look at, sign,
and return to school the following morning.
In closing, we want you to know how happy
we are to have your children at our school. We have wonderful children,
parents, teachers, and staff. It is a delightful place to learn, and
we have twenty successful years and counting to make us proud. Our success
depends upon hard work and dedication to education by all of our stakeholders
here at Whispering Forest. Making sure that your child arrives to school
on time (8:15AM) and in good spirits helps us tremendously! Thank you
for all that you do. We look forward to seeing you at different times
throughout the school year. Take care!
